Simon V - Keep the Faith

Two tracks off the Simon V album, 'Because We Can', got the video treatment. The first one, 'Keep The Faith' features vocal work by 'Shoot The Kitten'. A mind bending digital animation short done by a talented bunch from HDM Stuutgart, wherein a young woman is lost in a world of teched out cyberpace, and as she explores its settings, the world awakens with sound. The video for the track 'Odysseus' is currently in production and will be out soon.

Dubstep Basics : Toronto

Subtrac is a group that's devoted to paying homage to a frequency register of 100hz and below.Dead set on transforming the GTA and southern Ontario area into a North American hotbed for Dubstep music, subtrac promotes the sound on a monthly basis at Alto Basso (718 College St). For those who are familiar, Alto Basso is a warm and intimate environment that's perfectly sized for such an event. It's sound system is crisp yet boasts a wickedly warm low end.

With that in mind, friday night was goods! The lot of us met up for some eats at Everest on Queen and then hualed it up to Alto Basso on College. A nice little eatery itself that hosts a lounge in the back and a nice sized room downstairs with bar. Thick basslines were the theme of the night and the sound was heavy. Wild drunk times upon the end of the night, Spherix found out just how the Canadian crew gets down! lol.. "i was borrrn in the pub!"

Luke Chueh - 'Possessed'

Toy distributor Munky King, is producing the first toy with Luke Chueh, an artist who has fast risen up the ranks of the LA art scene. Employing minimal color schemes, simple animal characters, and a seemingly endless list of ill-fated situations, Chueh stylistically balances cute with brute, walking the fine line between tragedy and comedy.

The toy is inspired by his painting titled 'Possessed' and is to be limited in release and available soon.. sure to be a hot collector's item.

A favorite artist of mine, check out his work as well as the Munky King site.

'The Dummies'

Well, late nights and long shifts lead to boredom and complete randomness. With some chemical suits sitting around the shop, 'The Dummies' came to life last night and fooled enough people to make the time pass with some laughs. :P

Arctic Monkeys

Recently picked up the debut album from UK breakout band, Arctic Monkeys, and have been playing the hell out of it. My first exposure to them was 2 months ago on SaturdayNightLive. Didn't know them then, but dug what they were playin. Come the following week, 'The Edge' is playing their single, 'I bet that you look good on the dance floor' every hour. So yeah, a choice album, strongly recommended, go git it!

The Masters 2006

Golf's first major of 2006, and 70th Anniversary edition, went into the record books yesterday, with the 4th ranked player in the world and the man on fire of the moment, Phil Mickelson, gunning out his second Green Jacket in 3 years. With an impressive final round 69, Phil banged out the monster drives and made the sharp approach shots needed to pull away from the pack and seal the deal on Sunday @ the historic Augusta National Golf Club.

ICR - Empty Pages Album [FREE DWNLD]

"A man who keeps a diary pays,
Due toll to many tedious days;
But life becomes eventful-then,
His busy hand forgets the pen.
Most books, indeed, are records less
Of fulness than of emptiness."
